Auditions are only required for dancers seeking featured or specialty roles.
All Conservatory dancers are required to audition as part of their training and performance expectations.

What to Expect at Auditions
Auditions for The Wonderful Wizard of Oz are designed to be a positive, supportive, and educational experience for every dancer.
Dancers will participate in a short ballet class led by our faculty, where we observe technique, musicality, focus, and artistic potential in an age-appropriate setting. In some levels, dancers may also learn a brief combination to help us better understand their movement quality and stage presence.
Our faculty considers:
Technical readiness and current training level
Musicality and coordination
Focus, effort, and ability to apply corrections
Age, experience, and overall development
Auditions are not meant to be intimidating — they are simply a tool that helps us place dancers in roles where they can grow, be successful, and feel proud of their work on stage.
Every dancer who participates in the production plays an important role in bringing this story to life.
Who Should Audition?
Auditions are recommended for dancers who are interested in being considered for featured, soloist, or specialty roles in the production.
Dancers who plan to perform with their class dance only are not required to audition.
Dancers who wish to be considered for additional or featured roles should attend the audition for their level.
All Conservatory dancers are required to audition as part of their training and performance expectations.
We encourage dancers to audition not only for roles, but for the experience itself — learning to present themselves, work under direction, and grow through the process is a valuable part of classical ballet training.
Our goal is always to place each dancer in a role that supports their technical growth, confidence, and long-term development.
We sell all required uniform pieces in the Prima Shop!
Twinkle Toes 1 - Light blue or lavender camisole or cap sleeve leotard
Twinkle Toes 2 - Light blue or lavender camisole or cap sleeve leotard
Boys - White t-shirt, black shorts, and black ballet slippers
*Tap shoes are required for both classes. Skirts and Twinkle Toes tutus are permitted for class.
We offer 3 payment plans: monthly, semesterly, and yearly. The first and last months of tuition are due at the time of registration. For Conservatory dancers, 30 days of notice must be given to withdraw from the program and tuition must be paid for the full 30 days before the financial agreement is absolved in lieu of paying the first and last months at the time of registration (due to the higher tuition rates). Tuition can be paid by dropping a check into the lockbox at the studio or signing up for auto-pay with your credit card (subject to 3.5% convenience fee). There is a $25 late fee for any payments more than 10 days late.
As long as children are toilet-trained, parents are not required to stay during their child's classes. However, we would be pleased to welcome you in our lobby or cafeteria spaces with free wifi!
Prima is proud to provide two high-quality performance opportunities per year to our students. Every student can audition in August to participate in The Nutcracker in December. In lieu of a recital, we do a Spring Ballet each year that all students can elect to participate in.
